~I looked over the forum quickly, but couldn't find anything about this, so I apologize if this has come up before.~

**Main story spoilers ahead.**

During the main story quest "The Fallen," I have recieved the Call Dragon shout from Paarthurnax and returned to Dragonsreach in Whiterun to trap Odahviing, but the shout is not working. I got out onto the balcony and use the call, but nothing happens. Jarl Vignar White-Mane keeps saying they're ready in the background, but nothing I do can get the quest to move forward. I tried reloading to my last save (which was just outside Dragonsreach before moving forward to this part of the quest), I even shut off the game, and then shut off the system... none of it has worked. For whatever reason, my Call Dragon shout will not summon Odahviing to Dragonsreach.

Frustrated, I looked online to se if I had missed something. All of the walkthroughs for the quest I have been able to find say to go to the end of the balcony and use the Call Dragon shout, and that upon doing so Odahviing will appear. This simply isn't true for me. I read on one site that sometimes the previous part of the quest won't trigger properly if you've spoken to Paarthurnax to obtain the shout, and that speaking to Esbern may be required, however, when I speak to Esbern, he suddenly wants me to kill Paarthurnax or he won't help me with anything going forward. This doeasn't make any sense to me... why would doing that trigger moving orward with the quest when the quest line itself says its ready to call Odahviing to Dragonsreach?

I've thus come to the conslusion that this is some sort of glitch, and its annoying the crap out of me (to the point that its killing my enjoyment of the game).

Is there anything I'm actually missing, or am I right that this is a glitch? And if its a glitch, is there nothing I can do?
I've been playing for 55 hours and would really hate to be told I have to start over... there has to be a better way.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Okay, so, after having let this sit for a couple of hours (I actually went and watched some stuff on Netflix), my cousin came over and asked why I wasn't playing Skyrim. I explained teh situation and then switched over to the game to show him what I meant... yet when I go to Dragonsreach to do it this time, it worked. For whatever reason, I was able to call, capture, and interrogate Odahviing whilst my cousin watched. This only seems to prove to me that it was a glitch that was preventing me from calling him before, as I had done nothing since my last try but stop playing the game for some time, so its still a problem that I think should be addressed. Not one thats hindering me any longer, but one that I still experienced, and would thus assume someone else had as well... unless, of course, it was truly a staggeringly rare occurance that only happened to one gamer out of the millions who purchased the game... but thats about as likely as a dragon actually coming to fight me if I were to go into my back yard and scream Odahviing's name for real.
