Wow, I have to concede here.
That is a really shiney coat of new paint they've put on MW2.
I like the fact they seem to be focusing on the story.
That should be the opposite of their goals though.
I mean, who plays CoD for the story alone?
It's like playing Morrowind for the realisim.
I love the first 2's story's, Modern warfare 1's, and Black Ops and Black ops 2's. COD isn't as bad as people say it is. Much better then BF's...
Boy the people complaining in that thread is sad, specially those who are like "This isn't the next jump in gaming I was wanting". What the hell are these people expecting? Honestly there isn't going to be much in terms of "Next Jump" in gaming as far as graphics go, probably a little polish here and some smoothing pixles here but nothing major. If a gamer wants "realistic graphics" in their FPS shooters---enlist in the military and go to war---it don't get any realistic then that.
Now that's out of the way as for the CoD: Ghost game---if it comes out for the 360 I'll get it I love the Modern Warfare storyline and it's a fun FPS.
Can't wait to play this on the Xbox One. It looks awesome already.
Battlefield is a good example.
The first few had no story at all. It was geared for gameplay.
It would be better for DICE to just abandon the story in the future.
At first I thought it was post apocalyptic, which would have been cool. But once I realized it wasn't I plummeted into indifference.
After how good Black Ops 2 was I'm really hyped to see what happens with Ghost.
I like what I'm seeing from this game in comparison to BF4. I think they could do really well and what has my interest is a new engine (finally). They will also be at 60 FPS and to me that makes a world of difference. I believe this game could redeem the series for me if I do get an Xbox One anywhere near release (which I don't plan on doing right now).
Not really seeing anything different with the reveal trailer than what they've already done. BUT, if they have an actual writer who wrote an actual story as they claim it might be worth checking out. I doubt it. But I've been wrong before.
For a next generation game, the graphics seems to be outdated..
I was surprised how current-gen it looked from the brief glimpses we had. And they're certainly making mountains out of molehills with their "upgrades" to the series.
Whats so different, i cant see anything that isnt the same formula they have been using for their current games.
That dog probably appeared more than anyone in the trailer.
Here's my relationship with CoD.
I played every Infinity Ward CoD since the original, but I stopped with MW 3 and I will most likely never buy another one.
Why?
a ) Game length is a lot more important to me now than it was a decade ago. 5 hour campaigns for $60 are not worth it when I can get 20 times than for a fraction of the cost (or even for nothing in the case of free to play games like Smite, Planetside 2, etc).
b ) Call of Duty's inital draw to many gamers was that you were a tiny part of a much larger conflict instead of a 1 man wrecking crew like Medal of Honor, Wolfenstein, Doom etc. Since CoD4, its been super secret anglo-american special forces taking on hordes of slavs and arabs almost non-stop.
c ) Overpriced map packs that carve up the multiplayer community. This is where I draw a line in the sand. I am sick of being kicked from servers because I didn't spend the price of a full game on all the released map packs. These used to be free or at least they let PC gamers make their own maps.
