I came across something that I remember years ago

So I was looking up arson and just searching the web on arsonists when I came across an incident I remember from childhood. I was at Chuck E. Cheeses when it happened. The thing is, I didn't remember if I was 10 or 12 when it happened. Yet when I stumbled upon the article I remembered what I saw, burning flesh, muscle and ribs. Internal organs melting.

Now I know I was 11, because of the exact date of the article.

For the first time I read the article, 10 years later. I know this is a weird thread, but I can't believe I found it.

Here is the link: http://www.heraldtribune.com/article/20020827/NEWS/208270418?p=1&tc=pg

So has anyone had something traumatizing like this happen to them?

I was mauled by 3 labradors when I was two years old. My parents only recently told me, so now I know why I've always been afraid of dogs my entire life. I know it's not really along the same lines as the OP, but it was pretty traumatising all the same! :P

I was attacked by a yorkshire terrier, it was horrificing how such a stupid thing could be so ballsy...I punched it, it let go, I went on my merry way and was no longer horrified, just confused.

I crashed my motorbike into a ditch once, It is a weird feeling to see your own bone after the skin has been shredded.

This was more like close to being traumatizing but when I was about 3 there was a tornado in my town. My mom took me out of my bed when I was sleeping and put me in the safe place and less than five minutes later a huge tree fell on my room, turning it into splinters.

My parents let me watch Alien on TV when I was 10 years old. I think I was unscathed *twitch*

I saw Poltergeist 2 about at the same age, didn't sleep much that night... :cold:
Saw it again few weeks ago, and was thinking if it really does qualify as horror :hehe:

I remember watching Martians Attack or something when I was 5 or something, and I remember a black guy being set on fire and as he ran he was instantly burnt into a skeleton, falling to the ground.

That kind of stuck to me. When I saw the movie later though I realised the special effects was way worse than I remembered back then, and also Jack Black was in it, which is somewhat comforting.

I'm sure there's more, but a recent one would be in the car, pulling up to a roundabout when another car that was being chased by police, spun off and rolled over to crash onto it's roof right in front of me. What's scary is that before I left home, I'd spent 5 seconds fiddling around with my mp3 player, and those 5 seconds made the difference between the car crashing in front of me and me potentially being crushed by it too. Nice bit of chaos theory to think over.
