Camera specs

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 11:07 am

So yeah i'm gonna buy a camera to upload Youtube videos and take pictures of things because my phone can't put pics on my computer >.< Anyway is this camera good? http://www.walmart.com/ip/POV-Action-Cameras-ACG-20/17129595

And can it take pictures as well as video?

At that price and size, I seriously doubt it. The video and sound quality will likely be junk.

Is there any reason why you picked a camera disguised as a pair of glasses?

If you need to ask then you don't want to know.

I read this topic title as "camera specifications", not "camera spectacles". How sad. :nono:

Bummer. How about this one http://www.walmart.com/ip/Samsung-W190-5.5MP-HD-Pocket-Camcorder-Bundle-w-Bonus-4GB-Micro-SD-Card-2.3-LCD-Display-Waterproof-up-to-3M-Samsung-HMX-W190/17254382

Or this one http://www.walmart.com/ip/Toshiba-B10/16609147 And can these two both upload videos to YouTube?

And i just thought it was cool and it would be easier to film things if the camera was on my head. I'll be doing funny vids and videogame let's play's so it would be easier.

With a handheld mini-cam? Are you going to be recording your TV while you play your Xbox or something? Neither video or sound quality would be very good for a let's play, if you do it like that. You'd need to put it on a tripod in front of your TV (so whatever you buy, make sure it has a tripod mount screw-hole in the bottom). If PC-gaming, just use Fraps (or similar) and a mic for Let's Play's instead.

None of these mini-camcorders do well at all in low light conditions, tho some do better than others. Quality can be fair to quite good in bright sunlight conditions. Still photo quality will vary, usually passable but imo aren't that great.

Look some of these brands up (exact models may be different now, not sure), if mini-camcorder is what you're really interested in:

When they say "can load to YouTube" it just means they have internal/built-in software that, when you plug the USB arm into a PC/laptop, allows you to upload the camcorders files to YT or other social networks without having to transfer files onto the PC hard drive first. It is not wi-fi. Just sayin'.

Why not? [Because it's a piece of crap pre-paid phone]

Well, if you're interested in both photos and simple video use, then I'd probably skip those handheld mini-cam types and go more for the digital camera w/video. I think they're more versatile. Video quality is close to the same (imo) but photo quality can be somewhat better.

Like this one (or anything similar):

If you're doing Let's Plays, use Fraps and a decent mic.

If you want to film attractive girls without their knowledge, you're asking in the wrong place.

Looks good. does it have a tripod screw thingy or whatever it was you said? Though a digital camera might be easier to just sit somewhere and turn up the zoom.

Yes. It's the round threaded hole in one of the review page pics. Easy to check for.
