Has anyone gone through the cave there and helped the ncr troopers? I got to the bottom after killing tons of lakelurkes, and to continue you have to swim underwater. I have the rebreather, but I am NOT swimming through water with those monsters without a huge reward, so has anyone finished this cave yet?

Don't worry... that swimming bit just spits you out into the lake on the main map... there's no magical hidden treasure or anything.

Ohhh! So should I go back? Or are all of the troopers dead? That Radio distress call was soooo annoying that I had to help out.

No, that's it, the end of the cave... you swim for like 2 seconds and then you're back out into the map. The only trooper left is the one at the very top of the cave, at the peak of the mountain, where you first go inside. The end of the cave where you fight the lakelurk king is where all the dead troopers are, that's the end of it, with the exit being through the underwater bit. So basically you did the entire cave and then chickened out when you saw the exit... :P

Dang it! But wait, I never saw any ncr troopers besides the dead ones in the cave, no one was at the entrance for me :(

Oh and I still haven't entered Vault 22 just because I heard it was full of suprises. I have bad memories of the Nightkins in Repconn...
