Campaign Progress is Lost!

Thank you guys! After playing for roughly 2,5 hours of the campaign (right after the FDR Drive collapses) the game crashed. Ok, that's not so bad. After restarting the game my whole stats were gone! All gone! The achievements, the stats, my whole campaign progress! Now I have to start right from the beginning. And I don't know if this will happen again!

Is there a chance that somewhere in the world (on my PC or some cloud or whatever) my savegame is backuped?
Can I save some files, dirs, whatever, manually (e.g. after each level) to restore them if such an emergency happens again?

Where are the good old savegames? Where are the good old times, where one installed a game from CD (or better from some floppy disks) and simply start gaming? Not waiting for some countdowns or servers or activation issues, or internet connection blabla f** and s**.

[Update] I have to apologize. I have a server which shuts down in the late evening. On it my user profile is stored and Crysis stores all the stats, settings and savegames in the profile. During playing Crysis the server shut down and when the games tried to store the next checkpoint it crashed. Obviously, all settings were gone after restart. The next day, when the server was up and running again, everything was available again. Sorry for being wrongfully fussy. Everything I have seen from inside the game is great so far!
