Can't do any damage to Morokei

Post » Wed May 23, 2012 2:23 am

My quest for the Staff of Magnus has been stopped in its tracks by Morokei, and my need to kill him. Naturally I've been googling the problem but, although he sounds like a tough enemy, I haven't seen any mention of him being completely invulnerable.

To begin with he was ethereal, but after I killed his friends he lost his ghostly appearance. But despite this, I can't do any damage to him whatsoever. My arrows and fireballs go straight through him, his health bar remains full and I am getting quite frustrated.

I'm worried that this may be a bug, and that maybe there is no way for me to kill him or to proceed with my quest. Am I missing something? Do I need to do something else to make him vulnerable? Grateful for any and all suggestions, even bad ones :)

Sounds like a bug, I killed him within a few hits on master.

Are you playing on PC? If you are try god mode and smacking away at him indefinitely. If his life goes down then you were just too weak, if he is invincible then you have a bug. If it is a bug then hit the Tilde key, select him and type Kill. Maybe even try to resurrect him right afterward and actually fight him. That might reset it. I have seen people saying they use this tactic for other fights.

Thank you very much for the suggestion. I had no choice but to kill him with the console.

Finally I can move on with the game. Phew :)

Yeah I saw guides saying that. But I did kill the two wizards, and although he changed his appearance to look vulnerable he remained invincible anyway.

Anyway, problem has been solved with the console so I'm moving on :)
