Can conjurers make daedric armor?

Post » Sat Aug 18, 2012 9:06 pm

I was in another thread the other day, and I thought I remembered reading a post by someone claiming that conjurers had the ability to make daedric armor without any smithing perks (can't recall what thread it was). Does anyone know if this is true?

I don't know if there is bound armor anymore, there are bound weapons at least.
Well we do have spells like oak flesh etc, that's kinda like bound armor.

The Atronach Forge requires the Sigil Stone to make Daedric Armor with an appropriate piece, a Daedra Heart, and Soul Gem. You have to have 90 Conjuration for the Ritual Spell to get the Sigil Stone. In Morrowind, there were Bound Armor effects (I don't know about Oblivion.) All I miss are Bound Shield, and maybe Bound Dagger, since that's more of a Mage's weapon. (I would have accepted Bound Dagger instead of Sword for this reason, but I guess it's better ballanced without Assassin's Blade.)

What he ^ said: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Atronach_Forge. You'll need ebony armor, daedra hearts and a couple of other ingredients.

Conjured weapons should come with a conjured skill bonus in that particular weapon type while it lasts. As though you also summon the ability ans strength to use it. That way a Breton mage (Bretons are the expert conjurers and get no warrior perk bonuses) who is pure magicka can conjure a spiritual battleaxe and be able to use it without having to also be an expert in two-handed melee and have good stamina. Otherwise conjured weapons are pointless to a mage who needs to be strong enough and skilled enough to use it and they are also of little use to a stamina strong warrior who can use the real thing.

In Morrowind, Oblivion, and maybe Daggerfall, a person with sufficient skill in conjuration can summon to them Bound Armor as weal as weaponry. Bound Armor is basically weightless (and therefore light) armor that appear to be daedric in Origin.

This was removed in Skyrim, probably because they couldn't make the bound armor to work with their new idea of bound weaponry... i.e. ghostly and transparent, without it looking odd.

As to the above, conjured weapons can be gamebreaking in the early levels, before you can find/make Daedric weaponry. With two perks, your conjured weapons deal almost as much damage as an unmodified Daedric Weapon. That cannot be dropped. Bound Swords are immediately available (more or less) and you require a conjuration skill of 20 to get both of those perks. An Altmer meets the basic requirements right off the bat!

The mysteries of bound armor were apparently lost in the 200 years since Oblivion.
