I don't know if this is the right forum for this but I think my Companions questline is bugged. Its kind of stopped after Jorrvaskr gets attacked by the Silver Hand, and they kill Kodlak. Vilkas said we should get some revenge, but he didn't give me a new quest and he has no options to. I've talked to everyone but they say nothing. I've waited over 24hours (game time), left Whiterun, went to different holds, only to return and still find everyone standing around like the attack just happened. Aela is still outside with her sword drawn, people in the Hall are still crowded around Kodlak's body, etc. etc.

Am I supposed to wait for something? Do something of my own initiative? Or did this just bug out for me?

Any insight would be much appreciated.

It's a known issue. If you are on a console then you're just out of luck. If you're on a PC i think there might be a fix, but I do not know it.

The bug happened to me as well. But I am on PC so I could fix it.
If you killed a bandit chief and/or three silver hands at the end of one of the forts too soon you have to go back and resurrect them with the console then return to the companion hall and you will be approached by Vilkas to continue the quest. I guess he has to be with you when you kill them or they have to die after Kodlak, (If they are already dead, then Vilkas can't demand you accompany him to kill them.)

I also have an issue concerning the companion's questline.

I have finished all the major quest for companions and now just doing radient quests...The problem I have is...I've been using Aela as my follower for most of my playthrough now. I started the 'Battle for Whiterun' quest with Ulfric...I'm sitting in the keep talking to ulfric with aela beside me...right when I accept the quest to 'Battle for whiterun', aela all of the sudden disappears...*shrug* I assumed her character needed to be in whiterun for this battle. So we start the battle, stormcloaks overrun the place and we defeat the whiterun guards...yada yada...etc. Well after the battle I found Aela's dead body right outside the gate of Whiterun...guess she died in battle (didn't even see her fighting) I decided to keep it this way in a rping fashion (losing a friend in battle sort of thing).

A few days later as whiterun puts itself back together I decide to head to the companions for more radient quests...well...none of the other companions will give me work...none of them even have the 'I'm looking for work' heading in dialogue window. Did I screw up my radient quest with having Aela out of the picture?

If so I guess I'm gonna have to go back to an old save and restart 'Battle for Whiterun' without Aela being my follower.

I'm on Xbox 360 btw.

anyone else have this issue? I need to know if I should go back to a previous save.
