Can't even get past tutorial

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 11:23 am

Been playing for a few hours now, and have come accross several problems. First it wouldnt guide me out of the cart, then i had to star at the executioner for 2 minutes before the dragon showed up. I've gotten past those by waiting or starting over but now i have a major issue. When in the tower and told to go up, the dragon will not smash the wall. I've seen videos and i know whats supposed to happen, but it's not. Please help, ive tried several times and nothing.

When you are ready to help with diagnostics information, then try again. Meanwhile, your fellow game players in here are not clairvoyants.

I have the same problem!
The game started with the prisoner transport... some dialogs... then the carts stopped in the town and I had to wait 2 or 3 minutes before I was able to leave the cart. In the background I heard the noises of a driving cart. ... Then I had to wait for the dragon an now I'm standing in front of the tower wall that should have been smashed by the dragon but isn't.
Is there anybody out there to lend a helping hand? Please...

Playing on PC
Windows XP
GeForce 9800 GTX
AMD Athlon 64 2x Dual Core 5800+
Patch is on

Crazy talk! Proper punctuation... Next thing you know, you'll also ask us to read the forum rules!

But seriously, I'm guessing the graphics settings are cranked up too high. Looks like Skyrim is very processor-dependant, and I'm thinking that Athalon 64 is more of a bottleneck than the 9800. I would try setting the display options to minimum and see first if that helps anything.

It is not my motherlanguage and I'm not always sure, if I use the right spelling and punctuation. But I do my best. ;)

I would try setting the display options to minimum and see first if that helps anything.
Thank you. I will try this and report.

It did help.
The dragon smashed the wall and I'm able to go on.
Thank you very much!

Personally, I never ask anyone for a copy of the DxDiag reports. About 15-20% into that, after the first appearance of audio information, all formatting disappears, and between my vision correction, and the small fonts in this forum, it becomes so much alphabet soup for me.
