You can't simply walk into the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary...

How do they find you? lol

I've killed like six people, that usually sends them calling..

You have to do the quest for the kid that's looking for the Dark Brotherhood.

Hint kill an orphanage matron.

lol I just killed that person for the kid. wasn't sure it would get the dark brotherhoods attention. I went to sleep in the companions place in Whiterun, and then I wake up in a abandon shed in the middle of nowhere lol it was pretty cool. I'll find the sanctuary tomorrow. Hopefully there is lots of bounties and such. Can't get enough of killing those giants with the bounties from Whiterun lol

Ok, here are your steps to join the dark brotherhood.

1. Travel on the road that goes northeast from Whiterun until you run into a jester named Cicero with a broken wagon. Solve that quest.

2. Travel to Windhelm and ask about rumors till you track down the kid who is performing the black sacrament. Complete the quest.

3. Sleep.

4. ???

5. Profit and murder.

Wait, what? You can meet Cicero before he comes to the Sanctuary? I don't recall bumping into him. I found about the kid from some lady in Whiterun.

The quest involving Cierco is not required to join the Brotherhood, it is however recomended if you want to complete as many DB-related quests as possiple. In order to join the DB you must complete the quest "Innocence Lost". It starts in Windhelm. Ask around town for rumors or go walk around until you find a woman and a child arguing outside a house.

Ok, didn't know Cicero wasn't required. Its a fun, easy quest to do though.

indeed the DB finds you but you have to make yourself known first. something about a dark sacrament and an abusive caretaker suited my needs.

Head to Windhelm, there'll be a little kid trying to contact the DB
