Have you people never read Grimm's fairy tales or something?

Bethesda couldn't even put the REAL names of drugs in Fallout 3, and had to make up names like Med-X (Morphine) and stuff because people would freak out.

I found a mass grave of children in the game. So you can FIND dead children, READ about dead children, MURDER as a favor for children, but you cannot KILL children. But it is like Akul says, its the media's fault, not Bethesda's. Bethesda would be crucified in the media and amongst the politically correct crowd, so they wisely choose just to avoid the issue all together.

Yep, and bringing attention to this stuff with a thread like this isn't going to get the restrictions on killing children lifted. If anything, it's more likely to get any references to it, like the ones in the above quote, removed as well.

How the f is this even an issue worth discussing? Are you really that sick that you find it disturbing you can't murder kids in a video game?

No, but San Andreas cost Rockstar oodles of money because they had to RECALL the game and were forced to destroy those copies, and the game had to be re-rated advlts Only, which is the kiss of death.

And no, "any publicity is good publicity" isn't true. Let me spell it out for you:

Tonight on Fox News, "Skyrim - just a video game or a child murder simulator? Are child molesters and pedophiles attracted to this game? We'll hear from our commentators . . ."

Afterwards, you mentioning Skyrim around non-gamers will result in variations or questions of this: "Oh my god! You play that game? You like killing kids or something!?"

they did those headlines for MW 2 because of the airport level
what was (one of) the best selling title that year?
MW 2

I rest my case

same goes for mass effect and the "six scandal"

ow and for the record fox isn't an actual news network
rest of the world just laughs it off mostly, especially "news items" like this
we literally had the media ridiculing the mass effect six scandal over here

than again we dutch are just pot smoking hippies, what do we know XD

They probably left it out to evade problems with religious/media/government nuts who are like "OH! YOU CAN KILL CHILDREN IN THIS GAME! IT"S OUTRAGEOUS! I FEEL OFFENDED ABOUT A FICTITIOUS CHILDREN BEING KILLED!" Yet they have no problem with movies or books depicting raip, child abuse, murder, bullying, etc... "BUT IT'S SO INTERACTIVE, IT'S GONNA MAKE YOU KILL SOME CHILDREN IN REAL LIFE!"

Just crazy...

If you really want to bash some underaged skull, wait for a mod, it'll probably pop up at some point.

Harming children is not a topic of discussion for these boards.
