What specs are in it?

Post a dxdiag.
XP: Go to Start->run, type “dxdiag” and hit enter. Click the Save All Information button near the bottom right. This will save a Dxdiag.txt in C:\ by default. Then open the dxdiag.txt and copy/paste the information into your post.

VISTA/Windows 7: Go to Start->Search, type “dxdiag” and hit enter, click the Save All Information button near the bottom right. This will save a Dxdiag.txt in C:\ by default. Then open the dxdiag.txt and copy/paste the information into your post.

Just looking online, it is a DX9 system, so maybe whack in some more RAM and try games from that era.

I am not tech savvy either. But I think you only have 1GB of RAM. If you are planning on using the system a lot, you might want to spend a few bucks and get up to 2GB or whatever you feel like spending. The http://www.intel.com/products/chipsets/gma950/ is designed for DirectX 9. This was superseded by DirectX 10 a little while ago, but not too long ago. So just check out the system requirements for each game, and stay away from those that say you need DirectX 10. Anyway I'm sure others know infinitely more than me.

Probably easiest to take the laptop to a store that sells components, buy the chips over the counter and have them install them for you. But usually you just open a hatch somewhere and swap it out. It's not rocket science but watch out for static charge (ground yourself before you touch anything). If you are going to do it yourself, just check the specs before you buy.

I guess if it were me I would be looking in the recommended system requirements to say Direct X 9, up to 256MB video ram, and whatever system ram you get if you do choose to upgrade. And your processor is a Intel Core Duo T2400 1.83GHz I think. This would be games from a few years ago. I'm sure you will find plenty. (But don't blame me if it goes wrong 'cos I am just estimating)

Your system is pretty much as low-end as low-end can get. It most certainly won't be able to play Oblivion or Halo 2.

Can probably play Morrowind on Medium, though.
