Can't Level Up with a full bar

Post » Mon May 21, 2012 11:17 pm

I haven't had this problem to just recently. Is anyone having issue with leveling up? I got stuck on level 54 with a full bar and wasn't offered the option to level. I resolved by going back to a saved game of level 53 and redid many hours of play. It leveled up to 55 and I thought it was fixed. Now I have a full bar on level 55 and am not getting the option to level up to 56. :swear:

I am not going to keep redoing levels over and over to get through this game. Is there a fix? Is this a known issue? This game is becoming a real headache and will certainly discourage me from purchasing another from Bethesda unless these issues get addressed... AND FAST!

Please respond with your thoughts.

Thanks!

yeah sometimes the bar will 'look' full but you just need a tiny more xp to go up to the next.

is it telling you to level up as it should, is the level up music playing at all or is it broken also and just not letting you rollover to the next level. I've seen a few post on some other forums with this problem but seems only to be a very select few that sees this.

I am sure. I played for many hours with a full bar just to make sure it was full. Yet it nevers plays the level up music. No way could the bar be that close for that long.

In addition to the above information... My bar doesn't increase after each completed quest.

Quests dont give XP, Skill ups do, the higher level you are the more it takes, do know if you are a high level and you level a low level skill it will not move your bar much, its very possible you just need to skill up again to reach next level, this isnt a traditional RPG

After i jumped back down a level and finished a quest... you get a "Ta Da" sound and your level bar appears in the middle of the screen. When I was stuck on level 55 this wasn't happening

There are some quests that give skill ups, not all quests will do that, I believe only a handful to. ONLY skilling up each skill will earn you xp for leveling, it was like that for Oblivion (cept it was only your main skills that were picked that leveled you). The higher the skill the more XP it generates towards the next level and as you level it will increase the amount you need to skill up even more so.

This post help alot. I didn't realize that my "One Hand", "Conjuration" and "Light Amor" were all at 100%. This is what was keeping me from leveling up any further as I use them the most. Thanks so much for your input.

Note to self: To continue leveling up use perks that are NOT 100%

smithing and enchanting are fairly easy to level up with

alchemy is tougher as you need to make valuable potions in order to move the bar by a bit

pickpocket can level pretty easy too. you can pickpocket all the people in the thieves guild and dont get in trouble if you get caught, then can come back like a week later and do it again.

each time you level up you can buy 5 skill levels as well and this will also level you up as if you learned them.

lockpicking can be fairly easy to level too. I've collected every lockpick i've run across in the game with this character sense starting, and even with the ones i've used, i still have 400+ lockpicks. best time to practice lockpicking in at night, running around in the towns picking the locks of the various houses, just watch out for guards. helps level it up faster then just relying on tombs. Some house locks reset, others dont.
