Play with the brow -- that's key, as it affects roughly how the facial expression will look. It's very easy to accidently end up with an Argonian that looks permanently angry or confused.
Also, make sure that you manipulate the settings for cheek heigt and various eye settings; some eye sockets for Argonians cause this weird issue where their eyes "pop" out of their sockets and expose the black nothingness beneath. The chargen face should blink and shift weight, so you should see it if it happens.
Argonian males have a low default weight; unfortunately, Argonian men seem to only be able to be ripped or skinny.
When you select the complexion, the smooth looking one is considered to be "old," so keep that in mind.
The skin tone you pick might look very different in somewhere other than Helgen because of the daylight.
And don't forget to look at the presets and other Argonian NPCs. Find one you like and try to copy that, for starters.
