I can't play a Breton because they look so wimpy.

Post » Sun Sep 23, 2012 5:22 pm

They all look so frail. I know they aren't supposed to be huge, imposing giants like Nords or Orcs, but they all look like the scrawniest pansies who ever lived. Even when you put the weight slider up to full (which isn't what I want) they look pathetic. Anyone else notice this?

Nope. Nor would I care, to be perfectly honest.

Being short in no way constitutes being weak. I never seen my busty Breton babes as nothing but awesome Conjurers.

I used to play a Breton, but I stopped because I wanted a closer related race to parallel my actual race (so I chose Nord). I suppose now that I think of it they're pretty small. How do Imperials look weight-wise?

Yes they're very thin. I have the slider quite low for my Breton http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7093/7326807686_ca7f7b03be_b.jpg, but what he lacks in brute strength he makes up for in cunning http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y68Y4-stbtY and duplicity http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7tRbcxl6w0

This seems like a pretty vain way of going about it. My current Breton fits neither of your descriptions, and I certainly didn't have to max out my weight slider.

It isn't about height, it is about frailty. Something about their bone structure. Imperials are shorter than Nords, but don't seem like wimps. The Bretons all look like scrawny weasels playing magic at a LARP festival.

Personally, I like the idea of http://i1073.photobucket.com/albums/w384/Auroratiger/Skyrim/JelissaStormcloak004.jpg. B)

Not everyone has to look like a big brute, you know. Even Bretons can be pretty mean (points at avatar, that looks like she's having a bad day and is really to tell you about it - not to mention the Forsworn Briarhearts...). But if you want your character to look big and intimidating, well, I guess a Breton isn't the first choice. :)

If I weren't so determined to be an orc next, I might try Breton. Their 25% resistance to magic could be very useful.

If I ever do a DiD character, it'll probably be a Heavy Armor Breton. Seems like he'd be resistant to about any threat.

Oh, you mean I shouldn't jokingly insult a fictitious character created in a video game? Thanks for calming this down - that could have gotten nasty.

Make a female Breton, turn the weight slider all the way up. Yes, your bum does look big in that armour.
I have a Breton warrior who I made as oriental looking as possible, gave her scaled armour and one of those fur hats. Less wimpy and more 'the horde has arrived, o tremble you who are civilised'.

well most bretons are magically inclined so it would make sense for most of them to focus on the study of magic instead of chivalry and be rather frail....

Ever play Daggerfall? the Bretons have quite a martial history and High Rock is riddled with Knightly Orders.

I knew you were joking (or it at least postulated it was the Skooma talking) but its not always easy to tell if ones joking over the internet.

Maybe your game's slider is glitched. Because my male Bretons have 2 tickets to the same gun show...

It isn't the bodies, it is the bone structure of the faces. The bodies are the same on all human races. It is something in the faces of the males that makes them seem frail. The females have this weird wrinkled forehead thing, too.

Now, your just fishing. Bretons actually have the fattest most round heads of all the races. I actually challenge you create a Breton with a slim (scrawny) face.

Not the height...Not the body...It's the face.
