Can a regular Vampire join the Dawnguard?

Just a random question, If I'm a vampire without the VL ability can I side with the Dawnguard throughout the quests or will they refuse to talk to me?

you cannot do the dawnguard quest line as a vampire you have to get yourself cured there is a reason why they are like this if you talk to them. Lets not forget the fact that they are vampire hunters.

Well that's poop. I only ask because I wan't to be a vampire but I don't want to be a Vampire lord because I find it gimmicky, It appears I don't really have a choice though.

Especially since near the beginning of the Dawnguard side, when you return with one of the people (or all of them, I can't remember right now) that Isran asks you to find, upon walking back into Fort Dawnguard the massive circle of stone inlaid into the floor starts glowing when you and the recruits walk across it.

At this point, one of the people asks Isran (who is looking down from the second floor) "What was that for?"

Isran replies that he was checking to make sure none of you guys are Vampires.

If they find you out (which they will), they will kick you out until you can get cured. The Vampire hunters do not like Vampires in their midst.

Lets not forget the previous dawnguard got disbanded/ruined because they thought they could use vampirism to combat/contain vampires.

Yeah. That worked well... until the members that they had turned went and ate most of the Old Dawnguard.

Definitely not the Old Dawnguard's brightest of moments...

Yes....and no. If you join the dawnguard as a vampire, your eventually going to have to get your vamprisim cured. HOWEVER, later if you become a vampire again and enter the dawnguard castles, those gates which were originally there that did not allow you into the other parts of the place because of your vamprisim, are not there. You can walk around, but when talking to a dawnguard member, they will tell you to get your vamprisim cured, and they won't sell you stuff.

But you can still use the blacksmith thing to create crossbows, steel bolts, and fire enchanted bolts (which i think you can only do in the dawnguard castle). Of course to be a vampire and still be able to make fire enchanted bolts, you have to complete the quest to allow that, which you would have to do before you become a vampire again.

I think there may be a way to be a vampire and dawnguard. When you get to the part with the soul cairn there is two ways to enter it. Serana will tell you that you have to ether temporarily give up a bit of your soul or become a vampire she then offers to turn you.

Yeah but if you become a vampire then the same will happen the dawnguard will refuse to talk to you until you get yourself cured.
