Can it run Crysis 2? Obviously not. Ring of death for my 360

Post » Thu Jan 06, 2011 10:40 am

Just bought the game, super hyped to play it...

I get past the intro movies, swim out of the sub, get an achievement for "Can it Run Crysis", the hilarious old-school joke.

And bam. Screen completely goes to ****, red/blue lines, i turn the xbox off and back on, Red ring of E74 death...

Not sure what to expect, but the timing, coincidence, and i guess hilarity of this crap event, I had to share with the admins.

Had to play it on my roommates since then, but RIP my xbox =/

That svcks dude. I had an xbox get the E74 back when COD:WAW was released so it's not the game that broke your box. Your box just passed it's prime and crapped out. I have a jasper now and been going good ever since. I feel your pain.

Yeah, I just thought that if anything, the crysis/crytek team would get a kick out of it, somehow hoping maybe they'll see it...

Can't get more ironic than "Can it Run Crysis" and then it dies. haha

Great irony with that achievement :D

Its not the game, The xbox gets a ring of death on its own. I think its programmed from microsoft (im not the only one witzh that theory). It cant be that a system crashes from one minute to another, although it worked fine before. Happened to me, too btw. At CoD4.

And why would the xbox still show the famous screen which tells you that your xbox is broken, when its broken? Why can it show this screen but not your dashboard or game?

Imagine: if your PC(!) is broken, it tries to boot the system, fails, try again...maybe an error shows up... or just doesnt show anything anymore. On the way to this error, your PC gets slower maybe, or you change your hardware. But not pop up instantly a simple errorscreen, when you turn on your xbox.

Microsoft is, and always will be some cind of corrupt. Sorry, but you have to buy a new xbox.

I'm sorry for your Xbox...BUT (!)

This is too funny ;D When I first saw that achievement it reminded me of my first experience with Crysis 1 back in the days when I was playing on PC.

"Can it run Crysis ? " was the first question I asked myself when I bought it :D

Looks like your Xbox can't handle so much awesomeness at once ;)

Yeah apparently not.... hahah

Of all the games to blow up on, and the ridiculous timing, like 20 seconds after the achievement.
The developers obviously lied to me, i can infact: not run crysis. hahah

I've been through nine replacements. Don't worry, it's fairly common.

The disc drive on my friend's PS3 stopped working, just outside of warranty period... $ony wants him to pay $160 to fix it, and he'd also have to pay for shipping.

Might as well buy a new PS3, but I suppose that's what they want.

PC components are not like this, they usually have awesome warranties, especially graphics cards and power supplies. :) I had 2 graphics cards fail, and EVGA replaced em both for free (shipping back was free as well).

Consoles are evil, not only are they destroying genre after genre by oversimplifying gameplay and graphics constantly, but they are designed to fail outside of warranty periods, so you are forced to buy a new one. EVIL.

Mine died the exact same time. COD:WAW's out just bought another 12 month LIVE membership. BAM! E74. I bought an arcade system within a week. Was REALLY depressed without my games. Yes, I'm a 25 year old man. And yes, I had the pet lip out.
