Can't run the game (Although I was told I could) : Othor Games

Alright, id Software and/or Bethesda better get their stuff together, specifically their Requirments for the game. I was told my a Bethesda Moderator that I could run RAGE no problem on Medium settings (and I'd love no know what these medium settings are) and can I, no, I can't.
My game is either running out of allocated memory OR I'm getting really bad frame rate (literally about 1 frame every 20 seconds) or maybe it's my drivers, although I did update those and try it again about 3 minutes ago.

Minimum Requirements (take from Steam):

OS: Win XP SP3, Vista, Win 7
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo or Equivalent AMD
Memory: 2GB
Hard Disk Space: 25GB
Video Card: GeForce 8800, Radeon HD 4200

My Computer:

Windows 7 64-bit
Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.4 GHz
2.5 GB DDR2 RAM @ 667 MHZ (yes I know, odd amount)
Sapphire HD 4870 (1 GB version) Usually @ 1920x1080 rez

You can run it fine. Medium settings at least, probably high with some stuff.

I can't run my game either. CTD at startup. And yes I updated to the new Rage ATI performance drivers and that did nothing, so don't give me any of that 'video drivers' crap. This is honestly the very first game I've purchased through Steam that didn't start.
