Can I safely remove the unofficial patch?

Post » Tue Jan 15, 2013 3:14 pm

Since installing the unofficial patch I've been having some strange things happen.

1) During the "In my time of need" quest. The redguards when attacking would assume the dual wield pose. But they don't have any weapons in their hands. Also instead of attacking they just keep walking up to me.

2) Sometimes when I load a game, the followers are frozen stiff. They staying standing with their arms slightly raised and only move their mouth when speaking.

3) I decided to try the marriage in game. But at my wedding the only person that showed up was a duplicate of my character.

Are any of these weird bugs normal or where they introduced with the unofficial patch?

If so can deactivate it without harming the save and game progress?

None of that is caused by the USKP.

And no, you can't just go removing stuff at will with Skyrim either. You're more likely to induce more of the same kind of weirdness in attempting to do so.

Ah, a wild Arthmoor appears! It appears that I have been ninja'd.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to post your mod list Talyn82, and then perhaps we can find the mods that set this off.

About 2) I had the same problem once, which i could solve by removing FNIS completely. I am still not sure, that FNIS was really the problem, but it helped in my case. I just assume, that you have installed FNIS since you didn't post your Load Order...If not I have kind of a confirmation, that FNIS is not the problem.....

The unofficial patches do not introduce errors to the game. Did you clean your mods?

Do NOT remove the unofficial patches. These problems are not caused by it.

'2) Sometimes when I load a game, the followers are frozen stiff. They staying standing with their arms slightly raised and only move their mouth when speaking.'
do you use amazing follower tweaks or UFO? it is an animation bug. Use FNIS to generate anims again. I got this problem when i ask my follower to lie down(AFT mod) and the next reload freezes my follower into the same circumstances as yours.

a note to mod removal: Mod removal is not recommended. Because even when you completely remove it, there is no such thing as a clean save. All previous mod info will be stored in your save files and sooner or later you get some ctd or crash because of missing files. Plus, a massive fix like unofficial patches help the game, not cause crashes.
