How would you diversify bandits? You have some using one handed weapons, some using 2 handed weapons, , some using magic, some using bows, some in heavy armor, some in light armor... I suppose there could be a better mix of magic and melee or bows and magic, but other than that, how do you diversify?
I am just using bandit's as an example since they are so common. But a lot of humanoid enemy types suffer from this... Like mages/necromancers "novice, apprentice, adept, master" all seemingly using the exact same spells. I don't have a problem with the combat system it self just the tediousness and repetitiveness of the opponents you face and the boring difficulty system that just makes enemies damage sinks that can kill you in 2-3 hits. The difficulty setting and enemy system in all of Bethesda's open rpg's has always been lackluster and lazy; sky rim is a bit better but I know they can do better if they wanted to!
-Improve the AI and how enemies respond, add more diverse behavior, gear and clothing variations, name variations, more unique boss(ish) type encounters or interesting encounters in general "there are some that have been well done but not enough of them", more enemy types in general. I realize combat isn't everything in Sly Rim but it's a huge portion of the game and if you're going to be investing 100+ hours there are certainly some improvements to enemies and difficulty that could keep the game more fresh and exciting; rather then going to hunt down my 10th bandit chief.
