Can't serve time at cidna mine

Right, I've mined every single ore vein, spoken to all characters in the mine, got a shiv, tried to find a bed to sleep, attempted to kill everyone, waited for 2 game weeks, I've basically exhausted every possibility but still nothing happens I can't be freed
