Can someone tell me why Prima guides are 200?

Post » Mon May 06, 2013 12:29 am

Those old Prima Official Strategy guides for N64/PS/Gameboy games go for over 200 dollars on Amazon.com. Can someone tell me why?? That makes no sense to me at all. I'm completely befuddled as to why they would be so freaking expensive.

Are they considered collectors items? Wouldn't be the content in them thats worth that much.

Go to ebay and never look back, Amazon almost always has overpriced items.

Maybe they are collector pieces :shrug

I agree, that is just ridiculously overpriced. Unless it is some rare issue of the past, I can understand it.

Amazon is not very good about trying to keep their prices that reasonable. Not that Ebay is any better. The only real reason I can think up for them being so expensive is because they are collector's items. You can find them in used game stores, though. I got a few for 5 dollars each.

I saw some insane prices on Amazon. Nocturne for 1000 dollars and Oni on the PS2 for at least 100 dollars when most of the used copies were under a freaking dollar if it was disc only and barely over 19 dollars otherwise. I feel more rage at the person selling a used copy of Oni for 100 dollars just because the game was cheap in most listings. I merely laughed when I saw someone attempt to sell Nocturne for 1000 dollars. Not even the original run copies of it are worth that much.

Ah. I dont use Amazon. I thought Amazon was more of a general-online store system rather than the individual-seller controlled auctions that Ebay uses.

Amazon has it's own warehouses and does directly sale a lot of stuff. Personally, I find a lot of great deals and prices for stuff I like to buy on Amazon. It just depends on what you're looking for I guess.

Amazon also has a market place type thing where other sellers can come sell new and used items. Those prices are usually a bit on the high side.

That's why. Stuff rises in value over time, those are probably considered collectors items by now.
