Can,t startup Geck

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 8:16 pm

hello

i have windows 7 and the new vegas geck...as soon as i start it, i see the typical geck window, but it crashes then...

before i could start it, i needed to add a lot of .dlls myself, like libvorbis.dll or libvorbisfile.dll, after that it started but it crashes all the time..

i already tried to start it up as an admin or in win xp mode...but no luck so far.

anyone have an idea?

thanks in advance

added a lot of dll files?

All you are supposed to do is extract the GECK exe into your Fallout folder. That is where it NEEDS to be. It needs basically the whole game to function, not just the dll files.

I am having the same problem. When I try to start the GECK, I get an error message that says I am missin the libvorbis.dll. I moved the GECK into the NV folder and tried again. The same thing happened. I also moved the files into the Steam folder for Fallout NV and I got a different error. Which was: SSCE5432.dll missing.

SSCE5432.dll is a file that comes with the geck.

You need to download the geck, and move these three files into your fallout new vegas folder:

Geck.exe

GECKicon.ico

ssce5432.dll

Then run the geck and everything should be fine
