Can't stop playing Skyrim! Help?!

Post » Sun Jan 13, 2013 7:59 am

Skyrim was my first Bethesda-game. I never expected to love a game so much like it (soon afterwards I played Fallout 3 and NV for each 150 hours!). I used to play short games with a duration between 10-20 hours, but Skyrim changed that. The problem is: I have so many games at home that I should game. Most of them are short games. But honestly, I could play Skyrim or Fallout forever. I really got addicted to that kind of games. So at the moment I'm stuck to what I should do.

How do you guys handle it? Are here anyone who only plays Bethesda games and is happy with that?

I should game so many other games, but most of all I would like to start a new game with a new character in Skyrim right now! :P

Best thing to do in this situation is to drink alot of alcohol and find a hot chick, those are the only things that get me away from Fallout and Elder Scrolls... well, "could" would be the more appropriate word.

Hot chick: "Is that Skyrim!? I love Skyrim! What level are you?"

You: "Why must you tempt me!?"

If you're so psyched about playing Skyrim, why force yourself to play something else? Just enjoy it until you start getting a little bored of it, then take a break with those other 10-to-20-hour games you mentioned. When the urge hits you again, return to Skyrim. Simple as that!

Perhaps you're right. Sometimes I bother to much about little things. It's just that I thought, that I finally finished the "long" games at the current console generation (ME1-3, Skyrim, Fallout 3 & Vegas, Zelda, etc) so that I could finish the 10-15 short games that are storaged in my bookshelve before the new generation arrives at the end of this year (XBOX 720). But Skyrim doesn't disappear out of my head. ^^

Bethesda games take about half of my gaming time, a huge chunk of the rest goes to Paradox Interactive, then there's about 15% left for everything else. The thing is, most games are very short compared to TES - even the long ones take 50-60 hours at max, while Skyrim easily takes hundreds. I've never felt bad for spending so much time in Tamriel either.

My advice: play Skyrim to your heart's content and don't worry about other games. Sooner or later there will come a time when you get bored, tired or simply craving for something new, and that will be when you naturally leave Skyrim and move on to something else.
