Can't Go Up The Elevator In The Lucky 38

Post » Wed Apr 20, 2011 4:20 pm

As the title says, I can't do it.

And of course, I left Boone and ED-E upstairs in my room.

I have the quest to turn in the chip to House and I have the chip in my inventory.

I can still talk to Yes Man at The Tops, so I'm forced to follow his path in the questline and forsake my party.

That svcks.

Any suggestions, gang?

Perhaps you could be more specific. Why can't you talk to Victor? Does the E option not come up? Is Victor missing?

I go up to him, hit e and he doesn't talk. It doesn't bring up a conversation screen.

I can talk to Vic outside, just not the inside one. And trying to use the elevator without him, has the same results.

The "Disable Enable" trick (for those Oblivion mod users around) doesn't yield results either.

It might be A bug .. I have had 2 NCPs go zombie on me. They just stand their and wont react. I will load a few saves back and get back too that point and they are un-zombied. However it might not also .. goodluck

You can't use the elevator at all, it's glitched.

Thats not true, I had to use Victor up until The House Always Wins Part IV if I recall right.

I entered the strip finnaly after exploring quite a bit and what not and found victor dead on the door step to the lucky 38 one of the robots greets me at the gates saying Mr.House wants to see me but the moment I go inside the robots are hostile, has anyone else had this problem? Im thinking about maybe using the console command to bring Vic back to life he prolly died somehow the last time he ran into me on the road.. Funny how the game engine can evolve but the same problems from 1 and 2 are still around.

I've given up trying to get it to work.

I've tried every console code I can, killed every robot, reanimated them... even setownership, which obviously wouldn't work.

I now have to do the YesMan quests because Obsidian can't develop a game right to save themselves. Even when they grab most the resources and engine parts from another company who KNOWS what they're doing.

I'm pretty sure I'll be going back to Fallout 3. This game has been a lackluster experience for me.
