Can I use Lydia as storage?

Post » Thu May 10, 2012 2:44 pm

So full of Dragon bones and scales, crawling my way back to Whiterun to buy a house, as I reach Dragonsreach I see Lydia sat at the table and it struck me - no need to buy a house yet, I have the next best thing - a houseCARL.

Can I safely leave stuff in her?

She even tells you she will carry your stuff. :P It would be nice if her inventory opened before she finished complaining about it every time.

Just be careful what "stuff" you decide to leave "in" her. Wouldn't want a little baby dragonborn ruining all your adventures =P

You son of a Dovakiin! I was about to make a snide remark along the lines of " Yes, you can store your [censored] in her..."

She actually has a carry limit. After I stuffed her with ~40 Dwemer Stuff I could not deposit anything else

Not sure how it works on console but on PC if you click on the "trade her stuff" dialogue option a 2nd time it will immediately open the inventory.

I think.

She has limited carrying. Yet she can also die.

Trade her some decent armor and weapons, becuase she will use the best in her inventory to fight and armor herself.

She can die. If she dies (say durign a dragon fight. Is compeltly killed to the poitn you can't heal and revive. You will have to loot her and take certain gear back.

You may also want to hire other help. Some can carry more then her and have fightign skills you may prefer, such as caster healers that will also heal you.

You can use her as storage, but she has a limit. And be weary, if you give her a magical weapon to hold that you don't want to be depleted of magical abilities, then you better hope she has a weapon stronger than it or she'll run the magic out of that thing quicker than you can scream "By the Eight!"

In other words, she uses the weapons you give her. Yeah, that was a pretty corny joke sorry.
