I only briefly used VL to get the achievement then returned to lycanthropy but it seems to work like a short ranged whirlwind sprint so to speak.

Aw damn.

I was hoping that since some character used it to go around a room a lot, I'd be able to do the same.

No, of you use it against any blockage, you just stay in the same spot.

It also has a fairly long recharge time, so it's not practical for traveling, it's more for escaping quickly.

It's comparative to using whirlwind sprint. Flying as a VL and scaling a mountain by jumping and going in zig-zags is as easy as scaling a mountain with a horse though. Really useful.

Just... Make sure you don't do it going down a hill/mountain... I did this on a small hill and it killed me......................... =_________________=

They should probably look into this, if your trying to use it to dodge and the only way is down a slope or a slight slope, instead of going down the slope you go at a horizontal angle and fall to your death.

It is true that it would have been a lot cooler if "Bats" worked more like a short range teleport making you re-appear where your targetting reticule is pointing instead of being a poor man's whirlwind sprint but at the same time I can see how that could break the game letting you teleport up to places you shouldn't or accidntally making you clip through walls and falling out of the game bounds so...can't have everything in life I guess.

Hey, at least I got my Vampire Lord (I am a huge Underworld 1-2 really devoted fan) and thus far in any game I have played over the last 20 years I have rarely been as childishly happy as I was about telekinetically grabbing a guy and throwing him up against the wall a few times then holding him in midair as my pet bats tear little bits off him, finally letting the mangled bloody body drop to the floor pathetically. I am generally a very nice person IRL so it is nice to play a "cliché sadistic movie style villain" and enjoy the feeling of power :P
