Can You Craft Bolts?

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 5:43 pm

Easy question really. I've not completed the story yet, but I've noticed you can make arrows now but I don't see the bolts in the menu. So how can I acquire these in large amounts then?

No he isn't. He is stating that mods will lead to no complaints. He fully understands that if you're currently griping about the game that you must in fact be an Xbox player. And I now, isn't it ridiculous that you may not have access to your Arch-Nemesis' items.

Erm. Last I checked, this game didn't restrict access to things based on your decisions. It was never like that with most DLCs, I don't know why they'd do that now apart from the vampire/werewolf perk trees.

No. You asked about a way. Since there is nothing indicating Bethesda will allow vamps to craft the bolts, I posted the one possible way that will appear for sure

Right - so anyone (not just Companions) can become werewolves, anyone (not only College mages) can visit Saarthall and all levels of Labyrinthian, anyone (not just the Thieves) could get Nightingale gear & Chillrend, anyone (not just Dark Brotherhood) could get a house with prisoners to torture...

But there weren't restrictions to choosing to do one storyline versus another. You had the option to go get an item at no cost to you apart from time. Here, I can't do anything to obtain bolts.

Ok - other examples:
- get bot Ulfric's and Tullius' armor
- get the support (ie quests) of both Blades and Greybeards.

You can't, can you?

This. There's no reason for the vampire players to have access to Dawnguard special weaponry.

You kill Dawnguard to get bolts..

You guys are giving terrible examples, stop being so hard on him. This truely is an outrage.

Vampire Side Perks:

1) Vampire Lord
2) Blood Potions (Useless because nobody attacks at Stage 4 anymore.)
3) Death Hounds (equivalent of Huskies)
4) Vampire Lord Artifacts (Amulet/Ring that boost your powers slightly as a VL. I'd say this is equivalent to the Dawnguard's Crossbow Upgrades.)
5) 1 Unique Restoration Spell

Dawnguard Side Perks:

1) Vampire Lord (That's right, they BOTH get it.)
2) Ability to Smith and Purchase every Crossbow and Bolt type...something the Vampires can't do even for regular Steel Bolts
3) Armored Trolls
4) Huskies (equivalent to Death Hounds)
5) 5 or so Followers
6) Crossbow Upgrades to Enhanced Cross, Dwarven Crossbow, Enhanced Dwarven Crossbow, Steel/Dwarven Bolts of Exploding Frost/Fire/Shock. (Equivalent to Vampire Lord upgrades, I'd say.)
7) Runed Shield and Warhammer
8) 3 Unique Restoration Spells

Hell, both sides even get to blot out the sun. So let's see here...it looks like Bethesda was quite biased towards the Dawnguard, or is it just my imagination?

So wait, we're not allowed to complain that Vampires don't have a practical way of obtaining Ammo for our non-upgraded Crossbows? By that logic, the Dawnguard shouldn't be able to turn into Vampire Lords or blot out the sun.....OH WAIT.

Yeah, it is quite messed up, indeed.

I'm not asking for Vampires to be able to upgrade their crossbows or bolts....but we should be able to, at the VERY LEAST, craft simple Steel Bolts. It is a new weapon for goodness sakes that was the one of the MAIN FLAGSHIP FEATURES of the DLC. Dawnguard side gets Vampire Lords without the artifact upgrades...so why can't Vampires be able to craft bolts without the upgrades? It's only fair.

This is not a practical way for Vampire players to obtain bolts. Nobody wants to farm Dawnguard and Dwarven Spheres all day long to only get a measly amount of bolts at a time...that is just a joke. There aren't even enough Dawnguard or Dwarven Spheres in the game to be able to get even a somewhat decent supply of bolts.

I agree it's kind of bs dawnguard got favored a ton I just want steel bolts not asking for dwarven or upgrades just the simple ability to craft or buy steel bolts also I thought crossbows were to be integrated into the game not a dawnguard only weapon.
