Can you just ... be a vampire lord?

Post » Tue Nov 20, 2012 9:52 am

With the Companions I have never had a reason to ever change into a WW, in fact I generally cure it right after I get the totems and cure the brothers. I have never changed and other than not getting the Well Rested perk and a few odd comments from the guards (which unfortunately continue after I'm cured) there really isn't anything different than a non-WW character.

So can this be done with the VL? If you wanted to pretend it just didn't happen and never use the VL abilities at all (I just want to do the quests) what else changes about your character that you would need to be aware of?

Thanks.

Well, you're a vampire. You have to feed and you have negative status effects in the Sun.

Yes. You can cure as many times as you want. Which is pointless if you joined Harkon. Since that side of the quest gives stuff that enchance you vamp. If you hate VL form just join dawnguard and be a hero.

OP, So you're wanting to become a vampire lord yet never use the actual VL form? Yes that is possible. But like Brad said, you will gain a weakness to the sun and fire. Also, during the day Magic, health and stamina do not regenerate (you can easily get around that by enchanting gear though). Why not just become a VL then cure it? Same as you did with your WW character.

Didn't know it could be cured to be honest, but I suppose that's an option.

You don't HAVE to become a VL to do Dawnguard in case you were thinking you had to. But yeah, you could always cure it if you wanted.

I like werewolf because you have no weaknesses like vamps yet you have immunity to disease without a need to feed or transform. Theres really no drawback to being a WW...it doesnt even mess up your face like goin vamp does ;)

I was really lookin forward to bein a vamp in dawnguard but when I saw how it messed up my face ( it was really bad, trainwreck bad) I just had to get rid of it and do the Dawnguard quests instead...a shame I would've been perfectly happy with just the awesome lookin eyes...but not that stupid red line and the fact my skin went a wierd blood red colour!

Vampire Lords do not need to feed anyway, so apart from a weakness to fire, and Health, stamina and magica not renewing while in sunlight it is not that bad. The extra handicap just adds a bit of extra challenge.

I like being a vampire lord and I could never join dawnguard
Anyway you can cure vampirism any time or just keep a stock of blood potions at the ready
