I went to the Forsaken Cave to learn the last marked for death shout. I killed the boss and everything but I couldn't learn the word off the wall and the chanting is still going on next to the wall. I don't know if it matters if I killed the boss fairly far away from the chamber or not.

Huh. That shouldn't matter, I've killed bosses that I lured away. Although there was one word wall outside that had TWO bosses, a dragon and a dragon priest, and I got THREE words from that wall, but it only looked like one. O.o Is that supposed to happen?

i just played that dungeon tonight too but just got the first shout.i killed the boss in the entrance passage so not to far away but i wouldnt think that would make any difference,i went up to it during the fight and im sure it would of activated then if i dared turn to face it.I do remember i had to get right in front of the word for it to activate because of the angle of the ledge.Maybe try getting really close.
