You're pressing the wrong button. Use the button labeled "Unlock" instead of the "Use" one. I had the same confusion once, and I ended up reloading the dragon battle that gave me the soul four times before I realized I was pressing E instead of R, which is the key for PC. I'm not sure what it is for consoles, probably Y/Triangle.

I hope this helps you.

Select the Dragon Shout you want to unlock from the magic menu and then press R. It's a bug, but that is the work around.

Are you playing on PC?

Did you rebind some of your keys? When you look in the lower right corner of the screen, does it tell you that you have more than 0 dragon souls?

If so, the menu prompts you to spend the soul using the "R" key for "Desbloquear"; however, you actually have to use whatever key is bound to the "Ready Weapon" action, even if that key is not the "R" button.

It's a bug? I just assumed it was a rather counterintuitive default keybinding. Kind of like how E will equip an item instead of storing it in a container, which R does.

Thank you all so much. I was having the same problem and never knew you had to manually unlock them. I thought it did it automatically. I didnt even know there was a place that said how many souls you had.
