Canonizing Lore from the Previous 4 (or 5 with Tactics)

So in a previous thread about Zimmer and the Institute and whether he would make an appearance in 4, people brought up that Bethesda avoids canonizing events from previous games so that certain player characters don't effectively get erased out of the lore just because they were played differently. I wondered whether Fallout would be different because of the way other developers have set precedent (Black Isle and Obsidian had no problem canonizing events with F1's story established in F2's manual and some events of F2 established in New Vegas). I like hard canon because I think it makes a better narrative but can see the other side too. Wonder what others thought so made a poll.

Generally, I've always thought if a company wants to canonize a particular story out of multiple options then I'm fine with it. I still have fun playing my own characters just the same. So I guess I'm indifferent lol
