So I started Dawn Guard up today and when I have to follow Serana to the boat in the quest "Chasing Echoes", she won't take me because I already have a companion. The problem here is that my only companion was a dead thrall which I proceeded to slaughter, it of course didn't work. I've tried waiting absurd amounts of time, and returning to various follower locations to no avail. Is this just a glitch? Because right now its screwing me hard.

Unless there is a way to find the 3rd elder scroll without Serana, I don't know what to do.

Im having the same problem aswell, alot of people are to if you search it on google. I have no idea how to fix it though
