My personal opinion? Dunmer, but it really depends on what style you want to play.

Be a Nord. Most people will be nicer to you anyways.

Nah this is easy. If he can't decide then Dunmer. If he decides magic, Dunmer. If he decides stealth, Dunmer. If he decides warrior, Dunmer. If he decides anything in between, Dunmer. Seriously, they are good at everything except, recovering quickly from an almost cataclysmic event and then defending themselves against enemies who hate and vastly outnumber them. They are pretty bad at that apparently. :flamethrower: :flamed:

If you're from Northern Europe or Africa then that should make the decision easy for you. Unless maybe you have a cat or lizard that you're fond off?

Well, if you just want the best racial bonuses, go with Argonian. Breathe underwater, regen health faster, and resist disease.

Then again, I personally want to play a Nord in Skyrim. Just feels appropriate to the setting.

I have no interest in the Dunmer.

Rand (1,3) -> A
If A=1 goto X
If A=2 goto Y
If A=3 goto Z
Lbl X
Disp ('Argonian')
Lbl Y
Disp ('Nord')
Lbl Z
Disp ('Dunmer')
End

:brokencomputer:

Whatever, play an orc :icecream:

Biased. Pssshhh. Lol, Resist Disease. Useless. Breathe Underwater. Fairly useless. Regen Health. Useful. Now resist fire 50% . Useful. Ancestral Wrath(some kind of firestorm ability or something). Sounds useful.

I suggest that you don't pick a Nord, Dunmer or Argonian.
Most people are hyped about them only because they were 'star' race at some point.

if you cant decide its always best to go with the noid, i mean nord, after all you will get treated the best if your a nord

but argonians are best, they look better then mre boring races (im looking at you nord), they have the most useful abilitys (breathing underwater, there is new underwater stuff in skyrim, apperently), you will be able to stand out (really, how many argonians [which are warm blooded, i think] would like moving from the sweet swamp to the crappy cold?), you will have a tail (everyone loves tails :teehee: )

Seriously I know it is opinion but how can you justify saying the Argonians have the best racials? I am curious. I just don't see it.

What type of character do you want to make?

Warrior? Nord is good for that.
Rogue/Stealth? Argonians make great stealth characters.
Mage? Argonian, and Dunmer both make good mages.

i could ask you the same question, 50% fire resistance is kinda worthless to me, same with the dunmer Ancestral Wrath, but i think healing faster will be useful (im gonna make an enchantment to stop it when i dont use the spell though), the water is supposed to be more interesting, and diseases are always annoying (well i could not feel them in oblivion, but they could get annoying in skyrim without attributes)

If in doubt, pick Dunmer. They're the ultimate jack-of-all-trades.

A good way to randomize your choice would be to get a regular little six-sided die, assign two numbers to each of your three choices, and roll the die. Whatever number it lands on is the race you'll greet Skyrim as.

This also can work on all ten races with two normal dice, just pick numbers for each race while leaving two as "re-rolls" if you hit them. So, like, numbers 2-11 are the ten races with 1 and 12 being do overs.

Ta-da!

That creates an uneven number distribution (7 is FAR more likely to show up than 2 or 11). . .

a d20 works, or better yet, use http://www.random.org/

When were the Argonians the "star" race? There is no TES in Argonia yet.

Really? I did it the other night several times, got different results each roll. Huh. But, I don't have anything but regular, six-sided dice (very old too, I think two might actually be made of bone) so I just came up with something that worked with what I had.

The only number I've ever been able to roll more than once at a time has always been "snake-eyes" so maybe I'm just weird. Entirely possible.

Why are everyone so stuck on Dunmer, Argonians and Nords!?
Jesus. -.-

Redguards are better warriors than Nerds... I mean... Nords.
Altmer are better mages than Dumbmer... I MEAN DUNMER!
And a cute fluffy kitty is always better at sneaking than a lizard!

Honestly, I used to love Dunmers and Argonians even before I knew anything about them, but now all this hype about them only because people are sheep is killing it.
There is no worse experience than knowing that you share something you like with bunch of twits. >_>
WHY ARE PEOPLE ALWAYS svckERS FOR 'STAR' RACES!?
