CANT PLAY. Too Much Lag! PATCH!

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 12:35 am

I cant even play this game!! theres so much lag it's unbelievable. A dragon flying looks like he is teleporting through space. Please Patch!!! Bethesda!! i Dont care if that means less graphics, we CANT play with so many frame drops. This is truely dissapointing. No wonder all the demos were on the X-box 360...Any one else with the same problems?

Generally restarting the console will fix the lag.

Annoying? Yes. But at least it isn't permanent.

I guess you're returning it then. You do realize that it will take time for them to make a patch if these issues can be fixed. It also takes up to 2 weeks for Sony and Microsoft to approve the patch. There was a day one patch available, so unless they had a 2nd patch already ready for approval it could take several weeks for another patch to come.

A great example of why consoles should have graphics options.. I'm sure there are players who value a 60 fps framerate at lower graphics higher than a 30 fps framerate with better graphics.

My ps3 was bought 2 weeks when ps3 first came out and I never experinced any lag problems with skyrim it runs pretty flawless and no lag problems at all. It might be because you don't take very good care of your stuff.

My PS3 is three months old and I take obsessive care of it, and my discs. Skyrim for me lags horrendously, it's got nothing to do with age of console, or how well you look after it.

Have not yet learned that Bethesda not learned how to make games for PS3. Bethesda = Microsoft = Windows only.

I've been pleasantly surprised by my game so far. I've been playing for quite a few hours a day (although no more than 4 in one session before taking a break) since Saturday and have had no lag or crashes/freezes. I know that doesn't mean it won't happen ever, but a lot of games crash now and then and I'm pleased that Skyrim so far hasn't been worse or as bad as some other games. I was a bit concerned about how the game would play for me, as I don't have an internet connection for my PS3 (although I'm working on possibly sorting that out) so I'm playing without the release day patch. My 40GB non slim PS3 has been handling it very well so far, so I'm surprised that so many people seem to be finding the game unplayable due to lagging. I know it must svck and I'd be annoyed if it made the game unplayable for me too.
