***SPOILER ALERT; JUST DID QUEST TITLED ALDUINS BANE, AFTER GETTING ELDER SCROLL, IF YOU HAVE GOT THIS FAR, READ ON, IF NOT BE FORWARNED****

Okay I've just completed "Alduins Bane"; thus meaning I have nearly defeated Alduin but of course he ran away.

My next task is to trap the dragon inside Dragonreach but while I've done what the quest journal has said I am blocked because of something; civil war perhaps? Which is why I need help.

Okay from defeating Alduin I was to visit the Jarl in Whiterun to trap the Dragon in Dragonsreach. Jarl said he would but I needed to negotiate a peace between Tulius and Ulfric So my next target is High Hrothgar to get a council in order. After visiting with the guy I am to then visit both Ulfric and Tulius however this is where I am stuck. Both of them doesnt have a dialogue option that allows me to say: "Hey go to High Hrothgar and settle a truce". The map marker is still above their heads but nothing is happening.

So

Civil War issue perhaps? Let me explain where I'm at there.

I sided with Imperials and landed a quest called "Message to Whiterun" and heres what I have completed

*Deliver message to Jarl of Whiterun
*Wait for Jarls response
*Deliver Axe to Jarl Ulfric
*Return to Whiterun and warn the Jarl

Next it tells me to report to Legate Quentin Cipius; but again I'm choosing not to do this yet (because an earlier save resulted in something I dont want yet; I think lol).

So while after defeating Alduins Bane and visiting Jarl in Whiterun, he said "thanks for the axe, now go see Legate Quentin" but rather than me going there I decided to push the main quest; I again asked about "trapping a dragon", I then "persuaded him" and he said I needed to make a truce between both Jarls; which continued the quest "The Fallen"

After visiting High Hrothgar, it opened a new quest "Season Un ending" (well continuation but I think you know what I mean) which again tells me to visit each Jarl (Ulfric/Tulius); but again this is where I'm stuck. Both Jarls have map marker over head but no dialog option about seeking a truce.

Am I too far into Civil War Questline that I must do before doing "Season Un ending"? But I just think thats weird because I did have the option of doing a truce.

Should I seek out (lol I spose I can still do that and then just re load game if I dont like results) Legate Quentin and see if then it allows me to do the truce afterwards

Please let me know.

Oh, or am I encountering a bug and have to do a PC console cheat?

Thanks

PS. While waiting for replies, I will test out "seeing Legate Quentin"

from what i understand, it's:
  • Talk to Balgruff. he will send you to
  • Greybeards to set up a peace conference. they will send you to
  • Tullius and Ulfric who will then go to High Hrothgar for the confrrence
all-in-all, if you do not do the CW then you got to settle the issue with a ceasefire.
i believe you have to talk to Arngeir to start it.

if you are at the visit legate Quentin, i believe it is too late for a peace council

SOLVED!!!

lol well heres what I did

Visited Legate Quentin, who then tells me to visit NPC outside whiterun (forgot name, riffus, rifkas or something lol).

That starts the war. Stormcloaks vs Imperial vs Whiterun

Mission accomplished

I then visited each Jarl "Ulfric and Tulius" and told them to go see High Hrothgar to negotiate a peace

My main issue was that I didnt have access to Companion Guild House after Whiterun battle, after doing the peace thing I do (or I battled faster than last time)

I saved it right there, I need to head back to High Hrothgar later tonight. Right now I got some other things to tend to.

Again problem solved, YAY!!!!
