I read this yesterday morning. I actually laughed at the fact she could be so idiotic. That is just common sense though - Don't get so pissed you can't stand and become a disgrace to everyone who comes into contact with you.

This is something you should be careful of: http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/2011/12/23/glasgow-double-six-attack-horror-show-moment-rapist-strikes-caught-on-cctv-86908-23655669/

Merry Christmas !!! :celebration: :frog:

It's a shame that some people can't control the amount they drink, so that they can at least get home safe. Hopefully the fall knocked some sense into her and she won't be drinking to much again.

Have a safe and happy Christmas to you to

P.S We need a Christmas emoticon

I've passed through this station many times and knowing Barnsley like I do, this sort of thing was inevitable!

I find that reaction a little disturbing, frankly.

No actually laughing out loud at it.
If she died it would have been her own fault - maybe I wouldn't have found it funny as much as pathetic.
She fell over for being a drunken fool, and gets the same reaction someone who fell over their own laces would get, a LOL.
I've fell over plenty of times so I won't pretend it never happens to me but I laugh at myself for doing it - like last Friday I slipped in a puddle, landing on my backside, I laughed at it even though I got soaked on the way to work.
To be honest people are to sympathetic of this kind of behaviour. But my bad for seeing the humourous side of this

I only find it funny as she survived. If she'd have been injured or worse it'd be rather tragic.
Regardless of how drunk she is (everyone is allowed their fun) it is very unwise to travel home alone in such a state, especially on the rail network. Not only for stupid things like falling over but much more serious things such exampled in the link you posted.

For some reason I thought places around there would have less drinking issues (your near Italy iirc), someting about their attitude to alcohol.

OT, I have no sympathy for her.

Hah! I'm gonna drink more than I've ever drunk before, I'm even going to drink 500% more than my previous max! No, I'll go further, I'm drinking 9001% more than my previous max!

Spoiler
No matter how many times you multiply with zero, you always end up with zero

On a lighter note, yet still illustrating the need to be careful, we had a local woman put $700 worth of Christmas gifts into the trunk of a car that looked just like her daughter's...the one she was travelling in.
The key actually opened the trunk! She went back into the mall or where ever, and did not realize what she had done until later.
But that's not all......

Hey, look guys, I can be apathetic and ignorant, too!
She totally deserved to get run over by the train. I mean why didn't she just drive, right? Plus, when I drink I totally have complete control over my body. She was probably an orphan anyway. Why didn't she just not travel? I'm sure she's unemployed as well!
I suppose morals aren't as clear cut as most things, so it leaves room for confidence in your idiocy.

Well I can see the concern for being careful at Christmas, but this could have happened any time of the year.

Blimey. Although it was the other woman's mistake, that strikes me as being remarkably mean-spirited.

And talking of which...

Er, thanks: I think! I know I tend to ramble and sometimes be incomprehensible, but pirate-like...? Yarrr.

Plenty of people fall in the gap while sober. But thanks goodness for all those superior people who have never made a mistake, had an accident or done anything which would come under the category of "human error".

A woman actually was killed in similar circumstances earlier this year. Georgia Varley fell and died instantly while trying to catch up to a moving train. it's believed she was intoxicated.

People tend to drink a lot more at christmas. So there is a need to be extra careful this time of year.

Sad but not unexpected.

You get that drunk something might happen. Either don't get that drunk or find a sober friend willing to put up with your drunk antics.

Have you people never seen an internet tough guy convention before?

Anyway, this is one of the reasons i avoid moving in public when drunk. It also helps that i drink so rarely that one bottle gets me drunk for an hour, and then it just disappears :hehe:
