Carvan Help

Post » Wed Dec 01, 2010 5:09 pm

I have never played FO3 and I am new to NV so I have no idea what Carvan is or the point. I have tried to play and lost....i'm clueless. I see all these post about easy winning and things but I cannot even beat Ringo at the beginnning of the game. Help please.....I do not uderstand the goal of the game, what cards do what, how to win, etc....lost please teach me.

I second OP! I was rly looking forward to it and I thought I pressed something by accident when I did not get any walkthrough on my first game. So I grabbed the manual and surprise, surprise - no instruction on how to play the game. Have forgotten about it since and won't bother with it again, but I am rly pissed, especially after making all that hype for creating new card game just for the game!!! Obsidian you svck!!! You should post the rules and strategies as a sticky here!

It wasn't in FO3 so we're all in the same boat.

The objective is kinda like 21 except with a twist. You want to get 2 stacks to 26 or as close to 26 without going over. It's really quite easy to win once you get the hang of it. There are plenty of videos on YouTube showing exactly how the rules work and how to play.

If you don't understand caravan and think it's random after reading the rules note you are simply incompetent. The game is remarkably easy once you get the hang of it.

OP: I suggest you look for earlier posts where the game was discussed.

Edit: Probably a bit harsh but I was referring to people like the second poster who cry "THIS IS STUPID!" when the fault lies with them.

Once you've worked out how to play its a good way to get caps, here are a couple of guides its really simple once you work it out.
the first guides the best.

just remember you can use the arrow keys to move the cards to different stacks (caravans) including the other players and once its on a stack you can move it to different cards on that pack, the idea is to make a stack adding up to bettween 22 and 26 on each caravan route,

Ive read the rules, on IGN, and been able to play face cards (on my own and ringo's stack), however I can NEVER place a number card on any of my 3 stacks. if I start with a 2, I cant seem to even put a 3, 4, etc on it even off suited but the NPC does on his. I dont know if I am bugged or just over thinking the game.

Nevermind: thanks to another post, I seen you have to use the keyboard to move cards up and down as well....

thanks!
