Cat Fight In Mzinchaleft: Serana vs Aela the Huntress

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 1:45 am

I was exploiting the glitch where Serana stays with you throughout the Dawnguard quests. I decided to help Aela the Huntress find a Totem of Hircine. The three of us worked together pretty well. Serana would hang back and use destruction magic, but Aela would charge forward and use melee attacks. There were no problems except for once in Mzinchaleft to get a schematic for the Dwemer expert in Dawnguard. We had a Dwemer centurion attack in kind of a narrow area and someone got careless with her destruction spells (I am going to guess). After the centurion falls, I find that Aela and Serana are fighting each other. So I have myself a Skyrim cat fight to witness. I do not know of any way to stop followers from attacking each other. I guess this is why you rarely have a chance to have more than one humanoid follower. Since each of these followers is special and can not die, I had to let them fight it out amongst themselves. The winner was Serana. So I went over to console Aela and laid the Healing Hands on her. First thing she did after healing up was to attack Serana. I knew she was feisty! Had to reload a save to fix this. It was interesting to see them fight not knowing who would win.

WHAT NO PICTURES!!!!????

no seriously? pics? Nothing?

My money would have been on Aela had she been a werewolf.

I was doing the quest for the Civil war to get the crown. I brought a mage follower who tagged Rikki with a fireball. needless to say she chased us out of there and wouldn't stop fighting her even after she nuked him into submission a good 15 times :P

Same thing I ended up restarting.

I've watched Aela fell a mammoth by herself in the wilds while Ria (or Rio) cowered in fear. I encountered her while slow walking. hard to imagine her falling to a vampire. Either way I hope you took them out for drinks later at The bannered mare. Girls that get along make the best teams ;)

I believe you said you used a console command?

I found when I had a problem like that I could just turn off combat AI and continue on like normal. After moving to a new cell it should be safe to turn back on

As far as I know, it's not a glitch. You just cannot dismiss her, that's all.

If it was a glitch, there wouldn't be a line of her saying "Hell if I'm going to walk away from you!" if you try to kick her out.

This is what I've been sayin! :D Beth needs to make your followers shift with you!...assuming they can that is. If you're with Aela and you shift forms (ww or vamp) she should change too. Same with Serana. If they had that, and you shifted, then it'd be Werewolf against Vampire!...and finally we'd have an answer to that age old question...

:D hehe

LOL....cracker.

I walked into Breezehome today, wandered around the first floor and couldn't find anyone...so I wander upstairs, check on the 'spare' bedroom...empty. Wandered into the main bedroom and here's Serana and Lydia standing up looking at each other....

Mmmmmmmmm...........

Would of been great to watch this fight lol,im not surprised Serana won, she is an Ancient Daughter of Coldharbour Vampire, must be over a 1000 years old at least, and Aela while tough and a fighter, is just a normal werewolf,

Aela isn't a normal werewolf, Sinding is, but Aela is from the special Companions strand.

In all fairness to Aela, Serana was loaded up with some enchanted items I personally made for her along with a couple of magic booster accessories. One of them being an ebony sword, enchanted with shock and named after her. Aela did have quite a few ice spikes in her which is probably what started it all. I also think that maybe the Storm Atronarch Serana whipped up may have not been a good choice to use in such tight quarters. Calm spells are not in my thief's inventory.

iv'e done 5 playthrough's and there is no mention of a special strand, the only thing Aela mentions is some go feral, and they just offer it to fellow companions, but it isn't like the difference with the Volkihar Vampires and the lesser types that gets mentioned alot in Dawnguard

 The Companions are a special strand of Lycanthropy because they got their Lycanthropy through magic from the Glenmoril Witches, rather than being bitten. Normal werewolves have forced lunar transformations, but any other day can transform at will once a day. The Companions made the pact with the Witches that made it so that they do not have lunar transformations, therefore they are a special strand of Lycanthropy.

Doesn't make them any stronger in werewolf form does it, and that was the point, once a day!, big deal compared to a Vampire Lord who can use it at will.
