Catching Diseases as a WerewolfVampire.

Post » Sun Jun 17, 2012 12:11 am

Now I know your supposed to be disease immune when your either a Werewolf or a Vamp, however earlier today I was trodding through one of the nordic ruins as a Werewolf, the name escapes me and is irrelevant, and one of the booby traps I triggered let free some swinging guillotine blades and I got hit by one and I caught the disease that reduces stamina by 25. Now my question is if the disease resistance from the a fore mentioned afflictions is only for diseases contracted through animals and the opposing affliction. I'm going to take my vamp into the same ruin and see if I can manage to get a disease from the trap with him as well and I'll let a skeever attack both my Werewolf and vamp to see if they can contract a disease from it. Has anyone else had this happen or have some kind of feedback about it?

Try to see if this can be replicated. I don't think traps are supposed to give you diseases if you are vamp

I'm pretty sure that 100% disease resistance was intended to mean just that. If you are still getting diseases, I'm sure it was un-intended, and doesn't matter if you are a werewolf or vampire.

If lycanthropy was only intended to prevent diseases from other animals, it would be nice if the effect description said so.

On my only PC character I hit the talos shrine just before going into the underforge for the ritual. About a week later in game I noticed I was not hitting anything and sure enough I was deseased, bone break fevor or some [censored] like that. However sense I cleared that up at the shrine I haven't had an issue.

Not sure if that helps; likely not.

I'm pretty sure I read on the uesp that 100% immunity does not actually give you true 100% immunity. It falls just short or something like that, I'll try to see if I can find the page I'm talking about.

edit- http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Werewolves

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Disease

check in the bugs section and this confirms that it occurs. one is the werewolf page the other the disease page.

Yeah, some of the trap scripts don't seem to respect the 100% disease resistance granted by these conditions.
