Larian is already doing http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/05/28/divinity-original-sin-announced-top-down-rpg-to-address-frustrations-with-divine-divinity/ and making an oldschool ISO/TB RPG for their next Divinity title, show us that the RPG market can handle more than repetitive FPS/TPS action titles.

Aww...I loved Divinity 2. I was hoping the next game would be something similar. :(

Heres hoping it'll be a good game anyway.

Well it looks pretty fun so far - even though it's just another regular "candyworld" fantasy setting and appears to be somewhat co-op oriented.

Anyways, the CDPR game is set to be announced this evening in their summer conference.

Yeah, I'm not sure about that one. The overall style looks a bit dated to me. Brave of them to do something different, but I'm not sure it's my sort of thing.

Yeah, the world of Divinity isnt particularly fascinating, but thats not what got me interested in Divinity 2. The whole turning-into-a-dragon thing was ridiculously fun, and I'm sad to see they've moved away from that.

Then again, this was the style of the first Divinity game, and has Divinity 2 wasnt exactly a smash hit, I dont blame them for trying to go back to their roots.

CD Projekt didn't create the world and story of the witcher series on their own, it was based on a book. He is asking if can they create a great story and world themselves instead of basing it on someone else's work (I think anyway).
That's the only potential problem I see with this, I am very curious to see if they can pull that off. It's still CD Projekt though, so the gameplay and quest design will no doubt be amazing.

Almost makes it sound as though co-op is obligatory. I would have to play with one of my sons [hears a disembodied voice from the dim and distant past saying 'Elf has eaten all the food']
