Certain sounds don't work + weapon reload issues

Post » Sat Dec 25, 2010 12:58 am

A number of weapons seem to bug after reload, meaning you end up in a bugged state unable to fire, move properly, open the pipboy etc, and it takes awhile for that effect to wear off (or general mashing of the keyboard). Only seems to affect long load weapons like the Cowboy Repeater, 357 Revolver, Trail Carbine, Lever Shotgun etc. It makes using those weapons an exercise in frustration.

Also another issue is that when using the 357 Revolver in VATS it rarely hits anything (even with a 95% chance to hit).

Edit: Ignore the sound issue (found an independant fix).

Don't know about the other weapons but I've given up on the Cowboy Repeater. Since the latest patch whenever I try to use it, I can't get into VATS without hitting the key repeatedly a half a dozen times...

I've noticed this with the following:

Cowboy repeater.
Hunting revolver
Any type of shotgun

I've come to the conclusion that the list of weapons worth using this game is very short and specific. Other weapons are pretty much a waste, either due to ineffectiveness or bugs. After level 15, the only weapons worth using are the sniper rifle, gauss rifle and AM rifle. Its funny how a long range shot from a sniper rifle can do more damage than a nuclear fatboy blast or a point blank spray with a minigun. And the much hyped grenade machine gun seems rather ineffective compared to the guns mentioned above.

The bugs are only overshadowed by the imbalance.
