Hey folks,

I was trying to set up a travel rotation between alchemists to level my alch skill. I went to the White Phial (Nurelion and Quintus) AND Angeline's Aromatics for the first time, spoke to the proprietors (exhausting all dialogue options)... and that's it. No dialogue option to sell ever appeared.

Do I have to finish their dumb quests first before they will sell to me?? Or did I just get bugged out of two alchemy merchants?

yeah sometimes you have to finish their quests, or do a simple quest in the area. Each area has a faction rank, if the rank is really low non of them really like you and you have to do something for the townies to boost that faction rank, if you've exhausted all the quest options from townies, you can always go to the steward of the town and get a job from him, it'll be some random 'go out and kill these people' quest and there fairly simple most of the time. Slottering townies can bring your faction rank way down, if you've never been to the town before, your faction rank is at a starting rank (1), and you usually need to become known in the town.

They'll trade with you, no worries.
But this sounds like a time-of-day issue.

1. Shops generally only barter between 8am and 8pm.
2. You can, indeed enter some shops before or after store hours and converse with the proprietor.
3. But unless the hour is a regular business hour, barter dialogue will not be available.
4. Example: Smiths can be seen working the forge/tanning rack before shop hours. You can converse but not trade. When the clock stikes 8am...
...voila. Buy and sell as normal.

I think you're experiencing a time-of-day issue and not a bug/glitch.

Also make sure it's between the hours of 8am-8pm. Sometimes if you wait till the shop opens and the NPC hasn't had time to get into the correct position the dialog won't show up.
