Change in Capture the Relay?

Hey, first wanted to say my friends and I are having a blast with this game on the XBox. None of us are having any problems as far as lag goes or hit detection, and there's far less "WTF kills" in this game than in any other online, so first things first, great job with this one!

That said, we feel a change in Capture the Relay could help make it a better game type. I love the fact that multiple captures are allowed per round, but the current rule that a simple touch will return the relay makes it VERY difficult to capture ANY relay. In roughly 5 or 6 complete matches, we saw the relay captured MAYBE twice. This turns it into another TDM mode. If it's turned into a rule that the enemy team has to DEFEND the dropped relay for a set amount of time (basically remove the condition that a user can touch the relay to return it, I noticed there's already a time limit), it could make things much more frantic, and hence, fun.

When you look at the game type, I think it's clear that actually capturing the relay is ridiculously hard. Once you pick it up, you slow down, switch to your pistol, and your location is shown to the entire enemy team. An enemy merely has to shoot you down and do a suicide run / slide into the relay to reset it. Forcing the enemy team to work together and defend the location would, IMO, make this mode more enjoyable.

Just something to bring up in your next meeting!

CTR is a team game dude. you can't estimate it to work with only one guy capturing the relay.. ofcourse the 8 enemys are faster than you, recapturing the relay. Look what your teammates do. They just shoot at whatever moves, and hunnt down the enemy runner.. such games need coordination to run great. You aint get coordination with guys you dont even know, or they are really good supporters with two eyes fixed on you, and not on their score... but seriously.. who is?

I'll take it one step further and say that all of the modes in this game (with the exception of IA) are more team-based then most shooters. You die so quickly, it's really hard for one guy to run the scoreboard, the teams that win are usually the ones who, by choice or not, are usually together.

So, while I completely understand that this is a team game, I stand by my opinion. If the relay required the enemy team to defend it for a set amount of time, wouldn't that be more representative of a team game? As it stands now, you can have one guy (who is faster and has better weaponry than the relay carrier) do a suicide run and completely negate everything that the attacking team had accomplished. By making the relay-return specific to time, you end up with some very frantic shootouts between the two teams on dynamic positions around the map. Overall, I think it'd make the game mode better.
