is it possible to change my nickname? I ask this because it is impossible to use a spacebar in the nick when logging in in the demo. Or will it be possible to use nicknames with spacebars in the final version?

I used a number as my first character for the nickname (registered on site), however, when I wish to login in the game, I can't, since we're unable to login with any nick containing numbers etc.

i have almost the same kind of issue. But instead of in the game i want to loose my #s and get a name on the site!

I would like to know this as well. Not only for my 'gamesas' account, but also for the account created in the crysis 2 demo. Can anyone shed some light on this?

I also sent you ( Adam) a PM.
As I can see was my acc transfered to a new nick. But when I login with email i get logged into my old nickname (this one).
How can I login to my real acc which has got the new nick and all the PMs, forum posts etc. ?

I always have the problem in the log in to the website and in game, my new nickname is used for my old posts in the forum but this is the only place to see it.

Hey guys,

I've been inundated with PM's regarding name changes over the last couple of days. Please only request a name change if you've been assigned an email address username (sometimes happens during signup) and wish to change it or a number string username ("0009XXXXXXXX" for example) and wish to change it. I won't be changing normal usernames that just want a capital here and there or something small like that.

Regarding game username accounts, i'll be sourcing more information on exactly what the process is shortly. Keep an eye out for a new sticky once i've got the information.

Adam, you have already changed my nickname. I made this topic and asked if you could change my username from CPT C@pslock to Cpt_C4psl0ck. The reason for that was that my old nick wouldn't work with Crysis 2 because CPT C@pslock contained a [blank] and an [@].

As we can see is the nickname of this topic's creator (who is me) now displayed as Cpt_C4psl0ck. Before, it was CPT C@pslock.

The problem is, that I can't login to my account which has got the new nick (Cpt_C4psl0ck). If I try to login, I will get to this nickname, which is a DIFFERENT ACCOUNT which uses my old nickname.

I CANNOT LOGIN TO MY REAL ACCOUNT, that's the problem.
My login data were attached to my old nickname which somehow transformed into a new account.

PS: I came up with this topic before everyone swarmed you, while the DEMO was still running.

How do you delete an account so you can create a new one that would work?

Personally I do not find the idea of having to beg to have the account name changed by an Admin appealing, especially after having the name issued/forced server side by a company who made it incompatible in the game the account was created for.

Why not use the Steam name for Steam users? Change the game to allow spaces/symbols? Allow people to change their account names so they can make sure they are game compatible?

I am just tired of being punished for purchasing games. Pirates do not have to dance this dance and they get to play for free. I am sick of being forced to make accounts to play my games that I purchase, against my will and then I get messed with by the company because they do not like spaces or symbols in the name...

Nothing pisses me off faster than the feeling that I just paid to get messed with over something stupid.

So I have been playing as an unregistered user all day long. I like how the game will randomly forget my key bindings (little things like the jump, shoot, move or melee) while playing forcing me to restart the map. That or having enemies spawn in walls dancing the funky chicken, or my personal favorite: having them spawn in the developer model stance (with their arms held straight out at their sides and non-responsive).

You know what.... after thinking about my experience playing the game, combined with the log-in issues, don't bother.
I will not be inconveniencing you any further.

EDIT: Just tell me how to delete my account and I will go my way.

They should allow us to change the nickname ourselves or they should have more mods that are able to help us.
Adam can't help us all alone.

I should have learned my lesson after Dead Space 2 (another EA title). I was one of the fools who paid the full $59 for it on release day and I played it prior to the bug fixes. A month later they fix the bugs, give all the DL content, and lowered the price by $20.

Sadly I feel that Dead Space 2 was a better overall game to Crysis 2. I should have waited for Crysis 2 to go on sale. I would have bought the game after all the bugs were fixed, the log in feature would have been fixed (saving me this frustration), and the game would have cost me less money.

Oh well... live and learn.
