I use a calibrated profile, set as system-wide default through Windows Colour Management. Now, whenever I load Skyrim, a second or two into loading the main game menu I'll see the colour profile switch to what I presume is either a specific one that shipped with the game, or the generic sRGB colour space most monitors ship with - either way, it's bluer and colder and with slightly higher gamma than my own profile.
Tabbing out of the game instantly reverts my monitor to my usual profile. Tabbing back in instantly makes it go back to that cold profile.
I've scoured skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini and see nothing in there that I'm aware of that could be responsible for setting a colour space.
I'm aware that many games contain their own colour/gamma profiles and 'force' your monitor to switch to them as soon as you start the game, but this has never happened with Skyrim before (I've been playing it since release, and have changed the in-game brightness slider before too - just not since this most recent install of early last month). I've attempted reloading previous saves, but of course it's nothing to do with save games, it's switching to this other profile the moment I start the game.
This only happens in fullscreen. I can run the game in windowed mode and it retains my monitor profile. Running in windowed mode is less than ideal for me.
Does anyone have any advice, ideas how I can get Skyrim to start recognising my profile again, what I might do to solve this and stop it happening in the future?
Many thanks in advance.
