Changing Application Icons

Post » Wed Jan 02, 2013 1:24 pm

I know there's a way to change the image that's displayed next to an application (like the fox/globe for Firefox or the Moon and Star for Morrowind), I just can't remember how to do it.

I would like to apply the image on the default Skyrim executable to the skse loader (right now its the generic image given to applications by windows). Thought maybe it would be in the properties menu, but I can't seem to find it. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Right-click->properties->change icon.

Image you wish to change it to needs to be .ico images.

This is for shortcuts only, otherwise you'll have to use a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/73191-icons-change-using-resource-hacker.html.

EDIT: I'm sick and tired of the forums changing characters to the HTML counterpart when editing posts. It's [censored] annoying as hell.

Somehow I knew it would be you to answer. :tongue:

I recall you having all your desktop icons as anime characters.

EDIT: I don't know if I'm missing something, but I can't find the change icon button on any of the tabs in properties. :shrug:

Are you trying to edit the .exe directly? If so, see my edit.

Ahh, that would explain why I'm not seeing anything. :P

Thanks. :biggrin:

You do know there's a folder called AppData on your computer, yes? App being an abbreviation for Application has been around long before the iPhone ;)
