Many ways to go about this revolve keeping one piece of original clothing, usually boots, on while swapping a nice dress on to keep the changes permanent.

To the PC users out there...removing each item Id with a 1 at the end via console removes the item permanently, and you can add each new item I'd on with a 1 to make the changes stick. BUT every video I see does not remove the boots. So on Sylgja, can I remove the miner outfit, the boots and pick axe this way without it reappearing by removing each item Id with the 1?

From what I know, if you remove the original item completely the spouse would rather go naked than wear your new clothing by default unless you make him/her wear it again.
