Katarzyna is a half-nord, half-breton from Wayrest in High Rock. Her father was a Breton and her mother a nord.
She was a very cute girl when she was young, always kind, gentle and very beautiful. When she went to school, the boys ran after her and she was very popular among them. She enjoyed this and spent much time with them, much more time than with girls. These did not like her so much. Some of them were jealous about how nearly every boy fell for her, and because of her shyness, she didn't defend herself against them very well.
So it came to be that Katarzyna didn't have many female friends. Another reason for this was that she just didn't share their interests. For example, her parents once took her to a hunting trip, because her mother wanted Katarzyna to evolve her nordic side. And she loved it. She had talent and it always went well - except for that one time, when she and some boys went into the forest alone, and a bear attacked. Luckily, the scars on her face are all that remained from this.
She also loved sword fighting with the boys and despite her not being physically too stong, she had a talent and her speed, agility and skill made her keep up with the boys.
When she grew older, she didn't change too much. She never lost the childish expression in her face and remained a humble and shy person. She, however, startet to lose contact to the boys because they started wanting more from her, while she didn't. She saw them as friends, not less, but not more.
Instead, she had strong feelings for this girl called Amara. She couldn't really deal with it, because she didn't really understand what she felt. She just wanted to be with her. So she took all her courage and tried to befriend her. And she was successful, they became very good friends.
But never more. Katarzyna just never had the courage to try it. And when Amara one day told her full of joy about her first date and how she kissed a boy yesterday, that really hurt her. From this moment she knew for sure that she was in love with her.
So Katarzyna has always been an outsider somehow. As half-breton and half-nord, both races didn't really accept her as one of them. She didn't have much contact to other girls when she was young and although the boys integrated her greatly when she was younger, this turned into losing most of them because they didn't want her "just" as friend. And she had feelings for girls that she could not tell anyone about and that were destined to never be returned.
All this became unimportant, however, when her father was killed and Kasias mother blamed her for it. What happened? A boy wanted more from Katarzyna again and when she again rejected him, he became angry. He kissed her and started to do things to her that she didn't want. But he was too strong and she couldn't fight him. Her father saw this and attacked the boy. It evolved into a serious fight. Kasia just sat there in shock, half-nacked and just staring at them. Then, the boy took a vase and beated her father on the head. He was dead. Then the boy realized what he had done and left. He was never seen in Wayrest again.
Her mother couldn't deal with it at all. She asked Katarzyna why he didn't help him, and she couldn't answer it. So her mother made her responsible for his death. She said "You're not my daughter anymore", and this made Kasia realize that she had just lost her family.
However, she didn't cry. Not when her father died, and not when her mother said this to her. She wasn't able to tell why.
But she hated the thought of her father having died because she was too weak to protect herself. And so she decided that she had to retrieve her error. So she contacted the dark brotherhood in order to find the murderer of his father. But she demanded not to kill him, but bring him to her so she could do it herself. And so it happened, and Katarzyna did her first kill. This was the moment where she stopped being a child. She stabbed his body again and again and again with the dagger and just couldn't stop. One of the dark brotherhood members had to stop her and in all her rage, she nearly killed him too before sacking into his arms. And then she finally cried.
She was given the offer to join a new family then. The Dark Brotherhood. But she declined the offer. She was not a murderer, she just did justice to this boy. And she hoped that her mother would be able to forgive her when she gets to know that Katarzyna avenged his father.
But when she came home again to show her mother the head of this bastard that killed her great love, Kasia instead found a letter on the table saying that her mother just couldn't look her in the face anymore without feeling sadness, hatred and despair. She couldn't deal with it anymore. So she would try to start a new life elsewhere. She has selled the house to a family's friend for a low price and in return, the friend would take care of her.
Katarzyna was now alone and feeling guilty of having destroyed her family. So she decided to leave Wayrest and head for Skyrim, where she thought her mother would have gone to as it is her homeland.
Now she is heading to Skyrim with a chopped head in her backpack to show it to her mother with the hope that she will forgive her and they can start a new life - together. But all this hopes get crushed when she runs into an Imperial ambush against Stormcloak soldiers and is, after the Imperials discover the head in her backpack, sentenced to death - on her birthday, the 17th of Last Seed, just having turned 17.

So, what do you think of the backstory, is it believable enough?
And what would you say should I do ingame with that backstory in mind? She is surely going to search for her mother but that will be more difficult than she thinks. And she has no money because the Imperials took all the gold and possessions she took with her (including the head).
From a gameplay perspective, she will be a cross between a stealth character (using a bow) and sword-fighter (but she'll never become a master at it). Im having plans with the brotherhood, but not from the very start. The college of winterhold is not fitting, the Companions ... I don't know if it would fit the character. She wants to become stronger, being able to defend herself, but is she ready for this guild yet? (I wouldn't want to do their main questline or at least not anytime soon, but the radiant quests assuming you can do as many as you want?)
Thievery ... I think it could be an option to make money, but I don't know if it would fit her character. And the Thieves Guild itself has evil quests and the character doesnt fit into it at all, so I can't join them...
To personality again: From the backstory, I already know she is really humble and shy, that she wants to be able to defend herself and others, and not be defended by others since she doesnt want to be responsible for them being hurt. And since the murder on the boy she has a new dark side to her that screams justice at any price.
